Iran Hospital Strike & Trump’s 30,000‑lb Bomb: Timeline & Indian Student Rescue

Tensions in the Middle East have intensified dramatically. On June 19, Iran launched a barrage of over 20 ballistic missiles—including cluster warheads—at Israel. One missile directly struck the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, causing extensive structural damage, a possible chemical leak, and injuring approximately 71 people, though most were lightly wounded thanks to prior evacuations.

Iran claims it was targeting a nearby military intelligence hub, but Israel denounced it as a “war crime”.

In response, U.S. President Trump ordered “Operation Midnight Hammer” on June 22, deploying B-2 stealth bombers with over a dozen 30,000‑lb GBU‑57 bunker‑buster bombs—the first operational use of such munitions—to obliterate Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan nuclear facilities.Trump praised the strikes as a sweeping success and hinted that regime change in Tehran may follow if diplomatic efforts fail.

Meanwhile, in a separate diplomatic development, a group of Indian students in Iran have been evacuated safely. Though details are scant and overshadowed by the military crisis, New Delhi confirmed the students returned amid escalated tensions in the region.
